Angus Smith of the Orlando Consort writes in the Guardian today about the inspiring and surprising musical influences in Mantra, to be performed at the HSBC Cheltenham Music Festival on 4th July.
The partnership with musicians Kuljit Bhamra (tabla – pictured), Jonathan Mayer (sitar) and Shahid Khan (voice) mixes renaissance church song with 16th-century Indian music to create an extraordinary cross-cultural encounter.
