As the nation prepares to be gripped by Strictly Come Dancing fever as the new series starts tomorrow, we are ready to welcome a host of former Strictly stars here at The Times Cheltenham Literature Festival.
James Martin, Mark Ramprakash, Kenny Logan and Tom Chambers will all be leaving their sequin studded catsuits behind as they join us at the Festival. Former international cricketer Mark Ramprakash tangoed his way into the hearts of the nation when he won the 2006 Strictly crown. Mark will be joined by 2007 Strictly contestant and international rugby player Kenny Logan in a truly unique event. Having both faced the challenges of competing in international sport as well as the Strictly ballroom they will have plenty to discuss!
James Martin narrowly missed out on a place in the Strictly final in 2005. He joins us to trade in his dancing shoes for a chopping block as he presents his new collection of seasonal recipes My Kitchen. Join James as he proves his true star talent by preparing a recipe live on the festival stage. We are thrilled to welcome the latest addition to the programme – Strictly’s 2008 winner, actor Tom Chambers. Tom joins us to read his favourite literary love scene as part of the Carte Noire Readers: Your Perfect Coffee Moment series. Tom’s event is already sold out – so keep checking back here for the latest news on last minute ticket availability.
And if all this talk of Strictly Come Dancing is just one cha cha too far, don’t miss Festival favourites Mitchell & Webb in the new series of Peep Show – also kicking off tonight!
