At this year’s The Times Cheltenham Literature Festival we’re holding a series of fascinating and engaging events on organ donation.
Donation and transplantation are topics at the cutting edge of medical science, a source of ethical issues and choices, and a daily reality for organ recipients, donors and their families. We’re holding three events:
- The Science of Organ Donation
- The Ethics of Organ Donation
- Contemplating Presumed Consent
These events are part of the Wellcome Trust’s Talking Science project providing the public with new insights into the world of medical research.
Our speakers include science broadcaster and writer Vivienne Parry, organ recipients and donor families and leading scientists, doctors and ethicists. There will also be a chance to continue the discussions at our free Talking Points after the events. You can find out more about the events and organ donation and the issues surrounding it on our Talking Science page.
