The 3rd Annual Budvar Brewed Jazz Competition
Back for the 3rd year running, the Budvar Brewed Jazz competition, in collaboration with the Barclays Cheltenham Jazz Festival is looking for the very best pub jazz bands in the UK. To enter the bands must nominate themselves and specify the pub they play in. Any form of jazz music and group size can enter, from bebop, latin and soul to fusion and nu jazz.
Want to get noticed, play at a festival and win a cash prize?
Three entries will be chosen to come to Cheltenham and perform in a final showcase open to the public before a panel of top UK jazz specialist judges. The winners will go on to perform on the Budvar Stage as part of the internationally renowned Barclays Cheltenham Jazz Festival and will be given a slot in the Jazz Fringe Festival 2011.

Cattle Market, 2009 winners
New for 2010 is a cash prize of £300 for the winning act, £100 for second place and a case of Budvar for third place.
How to enter
All entries to be sent by email please to jazzfestival@cheltenhamfestivals.com
(with the subject ‘BUDVAR BREWED JAZZ COMPETITION’).
In the email please include:
- the name of your Band
- the name of the Pub you play in
- a contact person and their details including how they are associated with the band, address, email address, telephone and mobile number
- a link to your MySpace or website so we can listen to your band, if you do not have either of these please attach two mp3 tracks to the email
